Vocal/Piano concerts
I currently have two options for a piano/vocal concert. One is a classically oriented program featuring a combination of American, French, German and American folk songs with beautiful piano solos interspersed by my friend and collaborative pianist Robert Byrens. Robert and I have a long history of performing together and our programs include interesting anecdotes about the music and a truly simpatico combination of our talents. A bio for Robert is available upon request as is a video of a performance.
The second option for a piano/vocal performance is in concert with my son, professional musician Henry Koperski. www. henrykoperski.com
Our concerts combine vocals by each of us with Henry at the piano as well as a few selections accompanied by myself on guitar. Our eclectic program covers a broad range of composers and genres including the likes of Gershwin, Kern, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Sondheim, Bacharach, Jimmy Webb and Shawn Colvin. Henry anchors the program with beautiful, impactful and creative original compositions from his solo debut album. Our program has garnered rave reviews not only for a high quality musical experience, but an impactful and uplifting experience as well. A video of a recent concert is available upon request. I am Diane Penning- lyric coloratura soprano. I have performed as a symphony guest artist in venues with capacities over 2,000 and in settings as intimate as a house concert. In each and every one I am aware of the privilege it is to be able to share the gifts I have received and cultivated. If you hire me to perform, I will give you my utmost vocal musical performance from the depth of my lived experiences; both human and musical. I have received many heartfelt comments about performances. I am always grateful for the accolades pertaining to my technical and communicative abilities, but the comments that gratify me the most are the ones in which someone shares that they were moved to tears. I know these experiences are much bigger than "me". It is the music that moves through me and I am grateful for the gift of this ability.
